Cedar Butte

Snoqualmie Region

updated 1 month ago

As of July 11, 2026, Cedar Butte is in excellent condition with minimal obstacles. Parking at the DNR/Palouse to Cascades lot is generally available, though Rattlesnake Lake parking can be hectic. Expect some light brush on the trail, particularly lower down, and a surprising number of small, easy-to-step-over blowdowns reported as recently as July 10. Bugs are present but manageable. A side trip to Christmas Lake is possible, but the trail on its east side is swampy and overgrown as of July 10. Most reports indicate good shade coverage, making it a pleasant hike even on warm days.

Trail is in great shape. Great hike if you’re looking to not run into other dogs (we only saw two others) and has the perfect amount of shade/sun for the hot weather.
