Greider Lakes
Central Cascades
As of June 13, 2026, Greider Lakes trails are largely clear of snow. Non-biting gnats are present, especially at the lakes. The road to the trailhead is in good condition with some washboarding, manageable for all vehicles. Parking at the small lot is adequate if arriving before 9:30 am.
The initial flat section is clear, but the switchbacks are challenging due to rocks, roots, and numerous downed trees requiring ducking or detouring. Reports from May 30 and June 13 mention blowdowns, with the worst between switchbacks 12 and 13. The bridge over the outlet of Little Greider needs repair, with broken planks and missing railing noted on May 26. Wildflowers and raspberries are blooming.

This trail has an intriguing vibe about it; shabby yet quaint, neglected in places yet patched-up in others, quotidian yet teasing more remote venues. It’s probably a DNR thing, balancing utility wit...
