As of late July 2026, the Kendall Katwalk trail is in excellent condition with no significant snow. Parking at the lower lot is filling by mid-morning on weekdays, with the upper lot a common overflow. Restrooms are generally available and stocked.
Recent reports highlight a large blowdown cleared by July 27th, though some rough, rocky sections persist. Water sources are present but unreliable; carry sufficient water. Mosquitoes have been noted, particularly at the Katwalk itself (July 15th report), and some boulder fields can get hot. Wildflowers are blooming, and blackberries are expected soon. Dogs are allowed but the hike is strenuous for them, especially in heat. Expect crowds, particularly on weekends, and be aware of trail runners.
