Mount Dickerman

North Cascades

updated 1 week ago

As of May 2nd, 2026, Mount Dickerman's summer route is mostly snow-free with some soft, ankle-deep snow and occasional post-holing, particularly near water crossings or downed trees. Waterproof footwear and poles are recommended. The winter route has insufficient snow, with reports from April 10th suggesting spotty snow from 3000 ft and persistent snow by 3500 ft, firming up near the summit. Microspikes or crampons were used by some in late March/early April for slippery sections.

The Mountain Loop Highway is reported as melted out to the trailhead, with any cars suitable. Parking is on the shoulder. Expect blowdowns on the trail's lower sections, with a bike potentially useful for the road approach. Be aware of a misleading boot track that veers towards a cliff face; the correct route typically switches back left.
