Mount Rose
Olympic Peninsula
As of February 16, 2026, Mount Rose conditions are uncertain based on spring 2025 reports.
Hikers in early May 2025 encountered significant snow above 3500 feet, with depths up to 4-5 feet in late April. Post-holing and melting snow were common issues, making navigation difficult and the summit inaccessible for some on April 28th. Microspikes were recommended for traction on snow, with some finding them essential for descent. A downed tree blocking Lake Cushman Road was cleared by May 8th, but a short gravel section of the road had potholes on April 20th. Parking was competitive, with the last spot taken by 7:45 AM on April 20th. Snow was reported to be deteriorating by late April, with one sketchy snow bridge noted.
