Reports from June 11th and 15th mention snow on switchbacks, but it was manageable without special equipment. Wildflowers are blooming, and the lake is cold. Bugs are minimal along the trail but can be more noticeable near the lake. The trail is rocky and exposed, requiring sturdy footwear and sun protection.
