As of July 29, 2026, conditions for Tolmie Peak Lookout via Eunice Lake are excellent. The Fairfax bridge closure means accessing the trailhead requires parking at Mowich Lake campground and adding a short walk. The trail is in superb condition with no blowdowns or brush, despite recent park closures. Expect bear scat along the path. Eunice Lake is clear but cold. The lookout itself is inaccessible, but the views of Mount Rainier from its platforms are stunning. This hike is highly recommended for those camping or backpacking in the Mowich Lake area.
