West Fork Foss River and Lakes
Central Cascades
The West Fork Foss River and Lakes trail is currently challenging due to numerous blowdowns requiring navigation over or around. The trail is also noted as rocky, rooty, and overgrown in sections. Parking at the trailhead can fill up by mid-morning, with overflow parking along the road sometimes utilized.
The trailhead vault toilet has been out of order or locked since at least late June. Mosquitoes and other biting insects have been a persistent issue, particularly when stopped, though headnets and repellent are reported to be effective for some. Wildflowers are present, and lakes are generally swimmable. Snow is no longer a significant obstacle, with reports from June indicating easy crossings.
